Indiana INTERNnet Honors
February 10, 2017 – Indiana INTERNnet honored internship excellence among students, employers and career development professionals at the annual IMPACT Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, February 8. Indiana INTERNnet is a statewide resource for internship opportunities managed by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.
Ambassador Enterprises (AE) was recognized as the 2016 For-Profit Employer of the Year. Larry Rottmeyer, Dean of Corporate University, developed AE’s Intern Experience program two years ago with a passion to offer real-world, roll-up-your-sleeves experiences that prepare emerging leaders for success. Last year’s program welcomed twelve interns from seven local universities who focused on four key areas of professional and personal development: Leadership, Problem-Solving, Project Management, and Teamwork.
Rottmeyer also led the interns on a business study tour of Indianapolis, considered to be one of the program’s most important learning applications. The tour focused on organizations that were mission-directed, recognized for high performance, and have engaging, collaborative cultures.
“Ambassador Enterprises is committed to investing in people and their organizations. We believe that one of our most important investments in our community and future is the next generation of leaders,” stated Rottmeyer. “Personally, the Intern Experience is some of the most rewarding work I have completed in my career.”
Additionally, four previous interns were nominated for 2016 Intern of the Year. The nominees include: Cassidy Grom, Fayth Glock, Abbie Moyer, and Maddie Schwartz.
This recognition for AE’s Intern Experience program follows the launch of Corporate University’s accredited MBA program in partnership with Huntington University. The MBA program allows students to complete strategic, work-related projects while working on their degree.
