Ambassador Enterprises is a for-profit, philanthropic equity firm that invests in businesses, nonprofit organizations and their leaders. Currently, we have 15 companies in our portfolio, and have helped optimize more than 1,100 organizations. The company was founded in 2006, but our story begins long before that.

1974

Ambassador Steel Corporation was incorporated by Daryle Doden and two partners.


1986

Ambassador Steel Corporation formed its first official Board of Directors.


1990

Daryle Doden and Bruce Holwerda absorbed the company with a vision for making Ambassador Steel the largest independent fabricator and distributor of rebar in the country.


2004

Arlan Friesen joined Ambassador Steel Corporation as an executive leader.


2006

Daryle and his team formed a small holding company named Ambassador Family Enterprises (AFE).

AFE obtained significant ownership in Correct Craft. (100% ownership in 2008.)


2008

Harris Rebar acquired Daryle’s first company, Ambassador Steel Corporation.


2009

AFE became known as “Ambassador Enterprises” (AE).


2010

AE developed and launched engage! This was AE’s first signature training curriculum.


2011

AE acquired The Summit campus from Taylor University.

AE acquired Diakonia (formerly known as Design Conveyor Systems) and obtained significant ownership in Wagner-Meinert Engineering. (100% ownership in 2015.)


2012

AE acquired American SportWorks.

AE created Ambassador Supply.


2014

Arlan Friesen was named President of AE.

AE’s first global impact investment was made in Tanzania.


2015

AE formed the nonprofit organization known as Innovative Education International.
