Job Title: Senior/Product Development Engineer, AE Medical Platform
Reports to: Business Leader for AE Medical Platform

Position Purpose: The Senior/Product Development Engineer will be responsible for the product innovation and development initiatives, feasibility and assessment of new technologies, testing protocols and execution as well as other assigned responsibilities by the Director of Innovation & Technology.

Job Requirements
Duties include but are not limited to:

Leadership & Innovation

  • Technical medical device/orthopedic leader with broad and deep experience
  • Understands medical device/orthopedic landscape and healthcare trends
  • Understands current compliance and regulatory landscape for product development
  • Leverages relationships with vendors (suppliers, manufacturers, OEM, testing, etc.,)
  • Owners all assigned product development activities and functions
  • Contributes to intellectual property portfolio and strategy
  • Collaboratively works with internal and external partners, including health care professionals
  • Assesses feasibility, manufacturability and market acceptance of technologies
  • Working knowledge of material properties and testing methodologies
  • Manages and holds others accountable for project management and expected timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to take taking products through entire product lifecycle (ideation to post-market)

Documentation & Administration

  • Expert in good documentation practices, change management, design controls, DHFs, and technical files
  • Executes and manages health care professionals’ contracts
  • Compliance documentation (HCP spend, etc.,)


  • Comfortable working in a start-up environment, and willingness to perform functions outside area
  • Creative and high attention to detail
  • Creation and manipulation of drawings/CAD files, review of tolerance stack-ups
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Travel (domestic, international)
  • 5-10 years of product development experience in medical devices/orthopedics required
  • B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, MET)
  • M.S. and/or M.B.A desirable
