Karyn Tomkinson

Karyn Tomkinson
joined Ambassador Enterprises in September 2018. She is serving as Executive
Director for Early Childhood & Care. In this position, Karyn devotes her
time to reading research on best practices for early childhood education and
care, supporting staff and teachers with the implementation process,
collaborating with parents and the community to improve the quality of learning
and care in early childhood, and advocating for changes to state policies
around early childhood.

Prior to joining
AE, Karyn worked as a classroom teacher, a district instructional coach, and a
curriculum administrator whose primary responsibility was to research and
develop curriculum. During her time as a curriculum administrator, she
supported building leaders and classroom teachers with implementing best
practices in education.  Karyn is ambitious
and passionate about lifelong learning and utilizes her learning to be a
service to others.

Karyn earned
her Doctorate in Education from Ball State University in 2016. The focus of her
research included reading development in children from birth to third grade and
the impact the IREAD-3 assessment has had on school districts in the state of
Indiana. While completing her doctorate degree, Karyn also obtained her
Director of Special Education and Building Administrative licenses. In
addition, Karyn serves on the Board of Project Reads, is a member of Allen
County Early Childhood coalition, and serves on the educational advisory
committee for Trine University.

God blessed Karyn
and her husband Todd with four, handsome and active boys ranging from 3 to 9-years
old. You will find the Tomkinson clan attending sporting events on Saturday
mornings and church on Saturday evenings at The Chapel. Their leisure time is
