Ambassador Institute for Civic Engagement
“Every thriving community has a ‘triangle’ working together to accomplish big goals—the philanthropic and religious community, the business community, and government. To help build this triangle for northeast Indiana, we want to emphasize the important role of leaders in civic life and the need to increase citizen participation and engagement.”
— RON TURPIN, CFO, VP – CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
Promoting moral, relational, and economic strength in northeast Indiana
Effective civic leadership plays a critical role in achieving a community of moral, relational, and economic strength. With this in mind, Ambassador Enterprises established the Ambassador Institute for Civic Engagement (AICE) to identify, train, and equip emerging civic leaders in northeast Indiana with a heart for public service and a philosophy of responsible, responsive government.
The AICE provides an experience designed to help emerging civic leaders understand how local and state government works, identify the roles their leadership serves best, and how to build and run a campaign.
Nominees from local officials are selected by Ambassador Enterprises with a goal to represent each of our eleven northeast Indiana counties.
The program consists of four one-day sessions. Presenters for each session include notable state and local elected leaders, selected based on their expertise and relevance to the class and its participants:
Day 1 – Municipal and County Government
Day 2 – State and School Board
Day 3 – Campaign School
Day 4 – Day at the Indiana State House / Graduation
